TOEFL日記　Vol.1

These days there are a lot of people who attend school for many reasons. I think there are three reasons that explain why people attend school. For example, people attend school to find their interests, to find what makes them excited, and to learn the basic norm in society.

First of all, some people go to school in order to find what makes them interested. For example, I have encountered coding when a friend of mine who likes computers invited me to a project to make an iPhone application. Then I became a fan of coding and started making my own project with Python. Finding a thing like that, which makes me interested was what I have exactly expected for school life.  If it were not for that life I would not even have tried coding.

The second reason is that people can easily learn the basic norm in society. They can learn how they react to others through communicating with their friends in daily lives in school, or how to behave themselves in certain situations such as in group work or communications with grown-ups. Especially, knowing the way of communication with the one who is older than them works well to get along with the society right after graduation in Japan.

Third, people can learn basic skills to live a life. For example, in Japan, primary education gives them abilities from calculating to making clothes. Calculating the ratio of something and money is necessary for shopping, and making clothes is sometimes helpful when they have a family in the future. Like these benefits of the school education, attending school looks attractive for people who want to live their lives successfully.

In conclusion, I think people decide to go to school for the reasons to find what makes them excited, their interests and the basic skills to enhance the quality of our lives.
